Contents, delivering.-Relates to mechanism for partly ejecting the fowermost of a series of packets &c. containing needles, seeds, powders, medicines, &c. arranged in a cabinet in one or more columns. In one form, a push-rod 12, Fig. 3, is acted upon by a spring 13, and carries a rack 15 adapted, when the rod is pushed inwards, to engage a pinion 11<a> fast on a spindle carrying disks or rollers 9; these disks &c. have roughened or toothed peripheries, which engage the lowermost article of a series 4 supported on a false bottom 5, and move it through an opening 6 in the case. The rack is held in engagement with the pinion by means of a foot 14 adapted to ride up .and along a pivoted guide 17. On releasing the push-rod, the foot passes beneath the guide, and the rack and pinion are kept out of engagement through the action of the spring 13. In a modification, a pull-out slide 25, Fig. 4, is acted upon hy a spring 28, and has teeth 26 adapted to engage the lowermost article, and trunnions 27 adapted, when the slide is drawn out, to move along and over a fixed or pivoted guide 29. On releasing the rod, the trunnions 27 pass beneath the guide and the teeth are moved out of engagement with the lowermost article. According to the Provisional Specification, the ejecting means may consist of one or more levers &c. pivoted on a pin or rod passing through each compartment and adapted to engage the rear edge of the lowermost packet; in a modification, the ejecting means may consist of a slide having one or more humps, undulations, or cam-faces adapted to ride over rollers to cause the slide to rise into contact with the underside of the packet.
