Abstract

22,120. Yardley, W. H. Oct. 1. Separators.-In apparatus for removing impurities from fluids, such as steam, compressed air, and water, and comprising a casing 1 containing transverse plates 5 with holes 6 and spirally twisted strips 7 as described in Specification 22,184/08, the strips are covered by guards 8 open at their lower parts so that the impurities, which are deflected by the strips as the fluid passes through from the inlet 2 to the outlet 3, can only escape in a downward direction. The guards may be constructed to serve as distance-pieces between the plates.
