Abstract
21,958. Sury, J. C. M. J. Sept. 29. Chromo-gelatine and like processes.-For the bichromated colloid process, a smooth non-porous support is coated with a colloid containing a hard neutral powder such as glass; sand, or pumice-stone, and is sensitized with alkaline bichromate. After exposure, development is effected with hot or cold water until the unexposed gelatine is washed out, and a black or coloured powder, such as powdered pastel mixed with sand or pumice-stone, is applied with a fine brush. In order to render the progress of development more visible, a pigment which can be subsequently eliminated from the print may be included in the emulsion, such as iodide of mercury, which can be eliminated by hypo.
