Abstract

19,453. Mavor & Coulson, and Martin, J. M. Aug. 28. Gauges.-A gauge, for use in making or repairing cutters for mining-machines of the disk type, comprises a bed-plate E with a socket F to receive the shank of the cutter and a templet G with marks or notches A' to indicate the correct position of the ends of the teeth. The templet may slide and be secured by a nut H<2>, and the socket F may be adjustable for length. In order that the gauge may serve for cutters for either direction of rotation, the templet G may be used on either side of the plate E, duplicate sockets F being provided; or the socket F and nut H<2> may be centrally disposed, and the templet turned over when gauging cutters for the other direction of rotation.
