Abstract

19,342. Parsons, T. W. S. Aug. 26. Spurs.-A removable felt or other lining for spurs for protecting the wearer's boots comprises a strip 8, Figs. 1 and 3, flat upon its inner side and secured in a backing-strip 6, 7, preferably of thin resilient metal, which is shaped so that it may be slid into a dovetail groove 5 formed on the inner face of the spur 1. The lining 8 may be made initially with a bend 9 shaped to fit the backing 6; or one side of a flat lining-strip may be crowded into the channel of the backing. Fig. 4 shows a modified attachment for spurs of the ordinary form, the lining 13 being slit at 14 to receive the side walls of the backing 10, to which are secured clips 11, 12 for engaging the spur 1.
