Abstract

18,864. Arrowsmith, J. W. Aug. 19. Foot-arch supports.-A foot-arch support comprises two metal plates A, B, the lower of which is formed with elongated depressions A' which engage with short rounded projections on the upper and smaller plate B so that the plates have limited relative longitudinal movement when in use, and when not in use may easily be separated for adjustment or replacement of the plate B. The main plate A is riveted to the leather cover C and its edge is turned over as shown at E, Fig. 1, so as to strengthen the plate. The plate B is formed with a hole B<3> to engage with a hook to facilitate removal. In a modification, Fig. 4, the plate B is riveted to the plate A at D and engages with it by means of projections B<2> entering slots A' at the other end.
