Abstract

18,559. Lane, F., and Williams, S. E. Aug. 15. Band.-An expanding internal-band brake 14 is located within a cycle-wheel hub which is mounted upon two disks 4 carrying sleeves which serve as bearings to which the cycle frame is attached. The brake is attached to one of the sleeves 5, and is expanded against the internal surface of the hub 1 by a toggle-lever 15 and bell-crank 16 operated by a flexible wire cable.
