Chimney tops.-A guardring, Fig. 1, is provided internally with vertical tapering ribs a, preferably triangular in section, there being similar ribs b at the mouth of the pot. These ribs prevent internal eddies. Tapering grooves c, d, on the outsides of the guard-ring and pot, form upward air currents to assist the draught. The guard - ring is held in place by the ribs a engaging grooves e in the top of the pot.
