[Cognate Applications, 18,044/13 and 156/14.] Covers, wagon and like.-A tarpaulin support for railway wagons comprises a bowshaped member a w i t h inclined cranked arms a<1> resting in the in - use position upon brackets d<1> and adapted, when not required, to be swung over about pivots c on to brackets d with the bow-member clear of the wagon-end and the couplings. An automatic catch device for securing the support in the in-use position comprises a short bar c, which is first pushed upwards through an eye f on the crank a' by engagement with the bracket d<1> and subsequently drops down alongside the outstanding plate d<11> of that bracket as shown. Any tendency to turn the support about the pivots c then forces the bar e against the plate d<11>. An operator may release the support by pushing the bar c upwards in the eye f.
