Coils and conductors.-The end-connexions 1 ... 12 between the slot conductors d, d<1> of a stator winding are formed by metal strips through which stiffening studs e1, e2, &c. pass. Fig. 1 shows an example for a three-phase twopole alternator having one conductor per slot. The studs e1, e2, &c. are fixed at their outer ends into insulating supports f, which are screwed into the core end-plate b, Fig. 2. The inner end of each stud fits in a shoe g, on a conductor, d, and, at the appropriate place on the stud, there is soldered on a clip j which is soldered and riveted to one of the connecting- strips 1 ... 12. The remaining strips are separated from the stud by insulating tubes i, and the washers k and strips are pressed together by nuts m. The conductors d' are similarly connected to the strips but by shorter rods. The invention may be applied to machines having more than one bar per slot, the endconnexions being then arranged in more than one plane.
