Sheet-feeding arrangements.-The feed-rollers 11, 12 are journaled on spindles 13 carried by a number of segments 7 which are rotatably mounted on a rockshaft 5 forming part of the releasing-device. The provision of a number of segments permits thin spindles to be used, and thus enable the feed-rollers to adapt themselves to the platen, in the same manner as divided spindle arrangements. The segments are spaced apart on the rock-shaft by means of a bar 9 which is arranged in recesses in the segments and is formed with notches 10 engaging the segments, the segments being threaded on the bar before the rock-shaft is inserted. The spindles 13 are slipped through holes in the segments and are prevented from moving longitudinally by engaging the end walls 3 of the platenframe. The rock-shaft 5 is journaled in levers 6 and is provided with an arm 17 having pin-and-slot engagement with the release-lever 20. The rockshaft is pressed upwards by springs 15, and is formed with flats 4 which normally engage shoulders on the end walls 3. On operation of the relexae-lever, the flats are moved to the vertical position and the rock-shaft is depressed, carrying with it the segments and the feed-rollers. Sheet-guiding arrangements.-The extremities of the segments 7 may be arranged to form guides for the sheet.
