Amusement apparatus.-In an amusement apparatus, cars are drawn over the surface of a large inflated cushion or bag to which an undulating motion may be given by displacing the air therein. The cushion 1 is provided with a cover on which scenery may be painted. Bands or belts 2 which are fastened to brackets pass around the cushion and have their free ends attached to cords 4, which are wound on pulleys 7. Each pulley can be clutched to a rotating shaft 6, so that each of the bands can he made to compress the bag at one part and thus to bulge it out at another part. Passenger cars are drawn over the surface of the cushion either by means of an overhead cable or by means of a central rotating shaft like that of an ordinary roundabout. In some cases, only a single belt may be used to compress the cushion, or the belts may be dispensed with and the weight of the cars relied on for producing the undulation of the cushion.
