Abstract

14,662. Turner, S. June 25. Metal and metal-skeleton slabs; slabs.-Plates. slabs, tiles, &c. composed of asbestos mixed with hydraulic cement are reinforced by a thin corrugated sheet of metal, preferably perforated, and are formed by covering each side of the metal sheet with a sheet of the asbestos cement material in a soft state as it comes from the mixing-machine, and subsequently pressing in a suitable press. According to the Provisional Specification, the reinforcing - sheet may be plain; also the asbestos cement material may be rolled into sheet form, the metal plate being laid upon a sheet of the rolled material and covered by a second sheet.
