Abstract

14,518. Allgemeine Elektricitõts Ges. June 21, 1912, [Convention date]. Soldering.-In a method of soldering by electric resistance heating, the ends of the work are preliminarily heated by conduction from an auxiliary electrode, so as to melt the interposed flux, the soldering being then completed by resistance heatings. The parts a, b to be soldered, are held in electrodes c, d, flux e and solder f being placed between the ends. One or both parts are heated by a pivoted auxiliary electrode g, heat being conveyed by conduction from the point of contact of the electrode to the end or ends of the work until the flux is affected and contact made at the joint. The electrode g is then removed and the current passed directly across the joint.
