Fixing.-Comprises means for securing the sponge to the handle in a sponge fitting for cleaning - apparatus of the kind in which a sponge is fixed to one end of a tubular handle communicating with a hose pipe. Fig. 1 shows one fitting comprising a cup-shaped seating e operating in conjunction with a hollow plug g<2>. The plug is passed through the sponge and the socket of the seating and its outer end is connected to the handle by a member h. By means of a nut i the sponge is clamped between the seating and the head of the plug. Fig. 2 shows a modified construction in which the sponge is passed over a perforated ball-shaped head e<2> and is tied at g round a reduced portion below the head. The handle a is formed with a hand grip a<2> which is revolubly connected or universally jointed to the hose-pipe fitting at d. The hosepipe fitting is provided with a rotary controlling cock c<2>.
