Incandescent gas burners.-In inverted incandescent gas burners, a heat-deflecting plate e of iron, brass, earthenware, &c., is provided at the lower end of the burner tube a and supports a glass cylinder m. The plate e may be formed integral with, or supported by a flange on, the piece b which may be tapered, or cylindrical, or cylindrical with a tapered or rounded lower end, or bulbous with a tapered lower end.
