Abstract

8772. Breydel, A. April 14. Purifying oils, fats, &c.-Oils, liquefied greases, and fats are treated with nascent ozone by supplying the air or oxygen through one of the electrodes, both of which are immersed in the liquid. The air &c. also serves to agitate the oil. In the construction shown, air &c. to be ozonized is supplied through perforations 5 in an electrode 3 of tubular, grid, coil, or spiral form, the perforations being opposite the other electrode consisting of a conducting-plate 1 between dielectrics 2. The liquid may be further agitated by the injection of air through a perforated ring or coil 6.
