Abstract

6181. Drew, W. F. March 12. Plug cocks.-In a plug cock of the type comprising a hollow plug 21 with lateral discharge ports to an exit through the casing at an angle to the previous direction of flow, the plug is formed conical, preferably, for a portion of its length but cylindrical, as shown, at its larger end, and is formed thereat with a reverted flange 24. The annular groove thus formed is provided with packing 26 against which the end of the casing rotates under the compression of the retaining washer and nut 50, 51. A cap 60 screwing on the casing encloses the nut 51 and holds grease to lubricate the cock.
