Abstract

3485. Cox, H. W. Feb. 11. [Cognate Application, 6098/13.] Water-waste preventers, disinfecting-apparatus for.-As the flushing-tank B fills, water rises in a pipe E depending from the disinfectant tank A. The air above the liquid is compressed and forces out some disinfectant by the pipe C, which is taken up to a height above the liquid-level and then bends over, reaching into the tank B, where it ends in a trap. The quantity expelled may be regulated by means of a telescoping tube E<2>. An air-hole G in the pipe C prevents siphonage.
