Warp machines.-Relates to the use of webholding slides 12 carrying latch guard pins 22, and to the use of separate warp beams 41 for each group of thread guides 23, there being one thread-guide to each needle. Latch needles 4 are mounted fixedly in a vertically-movable cylinder 1, and threads 40 are applied to the needles by the compound movements of the guides 23, groups of which are attached to bellcranks 24, 26. The swinging movement from front to back is derived from a grooved ring 27 mounted on vertically-movable rods 28. The levers 24 are suspended from a ring 29, which is racked round to give the traversing movement from needle to needle by means of a lever 32 of which one end is geared to a toothed sector 31 while the other end is forked to embrace an edge-cam 35 moved on step by step by ratchet mechanism. The threads 40 pass from the beams 41 under an adjustable roller 43 and over rollers 42, 44. The draw-off mechanism may be mounted on a fixed plate 30 as shown, or may be mounted on the ring 29 in cases where the ring 29 is required to be traversed continually in one direction. The slides 12 are mounted in radial tricks, and their forked ends 16 embrace a vertically movable operating- ring 17.
