Abstract

28,811. Brown, P., and Bostock, F. J. Dec. 14. Protractors &c. - In an apparatus for testing the accuracy of worms and worm - wheels, the angle of the worm thread is measured on a protractor plate 18 by a pivoted blade or pointer 19 having its contact arm heavier than its indicating arm. The worm is positioned while being tested on centres carried by headstocks mounted on slides formed on a pedestal or base, and the plate 18 is carried by a bracket 16 upon a rod 9 which is vertically adjustable in a saddle 6 horizontally adjustable on the headstock slides.
