Casings; wear, preventing and adjusting for. -In a centrifugal pump for dealing with sand or pulp, the casing fits the impeller at the periphery 4, but has deep recesses 8 at the sides in order to reduce wear. Ribs 9 and clear water supply pipes 13 may be provided. Renewable wearing rings 14 at the periphery and 12 at the suction may be fitted.
