Nozzles with cutoff devices. - A filter screwed on to the outlet of an ordinary petrol can, which is then inverted as shown, comprises a tubular body part 4, a nose - piece 8 sliding on the body part, and an airpipe 14 which admits external air to the space on top of the petrol. The nose-piece is forced outwards by a spring 13 and is connected with a valve 7 so that the valve is opened, to allow the petrol to flow from the can into the tank, only when the nosepiece is pressed into the tank opening 17. The air-pipe 14 is telescopic, and is provided at its end with a ball valve 38 of cork or some substance having a lower specific gravity than petrol. In a modification, the body part is of different form and a flat valve with a leather face is provided. In a further modification, the nose-piece is formed of wire.
