Plant.-A semicircular spilling-hearth F has facets against which moulds H are placed, and forms a track whereon runs a wheeled hood or box D forming part of a ventilating - apparatus f o r withdrawing fumes &c. rising from the crucible and mould. A straight spilling - hearth forms a similar track for a modified ventilating- apparatus.
