Cramps and clamps.- A clamping-machine in which pressure is automatically exerted on all sides of door, window, or like frames is provided with mechanism whereby the clamping- members are moved successively and alternately with respect to each other a hammer device being provided for imparting a setting - blow while the frame is still engaged by the clamping- members. The movable end clamp 9 is operated from the vertical driving-shaft 56 by a cam member 33 having a cam opening which is engaged by a crank roller 62 connected to the shaft 56. The longitudinal clamp 17 is operated from the horizontal driving-shaft 48 by cam members 35 having cam openings engaged by crank rollers 52 connected to the shaft 48. The cam openings in the cam members 33, 35 are so arranged that the clamps 9, 17 are each operated in two stages, a movement of one alternating with that of the other. A setting- blow is then given by spring-actuated hammers 90, which are lifted against the action of the springs by cams 97 on the shaft 48 engaging lugs 96 on projections of the hammers. Screw devices are provided for adjusting the normal positions of the clamps 9, 17.
