22,479. Schmalzried, E. Oct. 3. Milling-cutters and like tools are formed from a twisted bar of steel having its edges ground to form cutting-edges. The cutter may be mounted on centres as shown in Fig. 1, or may be holed to receive an arbor. Rectangular or star-shaped bars may be employed, and the edges may be backed-off before twisting.
