Abstract

21,864. British Thomson-Houston Co., [General Electric Co.]. Sept. 25. Pitot - tube measuring - apparatus.-A nozzle plug for fluid-flow meters comprises a pin 4, Figs. 1 and 3, provided with longitudinal leading and trailing slits 5, 6 respectively, and extending across the main 1. Each slit communicates with a passage 7 and tube 8 leading to the metering-device. The pin is made thin in cross-section and broad in the direction of the length of the main. The slits may be placed obliquely, as shown in Fig. 5. Where the pin is inserted in a vertical main, a small hole in the pin permits the draining-off of condensed steam. Radiating disks are mounted on the pipes 8.
