[Cognate Application, 23,544/12.] Lacquers consist of nitrocellulose or a resin dissolved in a ,fully hydrogenized monocyclic ketone containing five or six carbon atoms in the ring such as cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone, and homologues of these bodies. Benzene, ligroin, colours, &c. may be added. In examples, nitrocellulose is dissolved in cyclohexanone, or a mixture of this with ligroin; damar, copal, or pine resin is dissolved in cyclohexanone, to which linseed oil may be added to reduce the brittleness of the skin obtained.
