Abstract
18,838. Jacomy, P., and Jahan, F. Aug. 16, 1911, [Convention date]. Screw propellers.-Propellers for aerial and other purposes are made from a single metal tube or plate. The blades a are formed by pressing the tube on stamps and mandrels, or in any other way, the blades being flattened towards the tips. In order to form the hub, a hole is forced in the tube, so that its edges b, Fig. 2, are forced inwards. A sleeve c is then fixed by welding or otherwise, and bored out to fit the shaft.
