Abstract

18,521. Coupal, A. E. Aug. 12. Staples, wire and like.-A staple, particularly adapted for use in making boots and shoes, is so formed that when driven against a flat anvil the extremities of the legs are bent towards each other and also laterally, as shown in Fig. 7. The legs 9, 10, Figs. 2 and 5 are provided respectively with surfaces 13, 14 which cause them to bend towards each other, and surfaces 11, 12 which cause them to bend to the same side of the plane x x.
