Renewable treads.-A roughing-attachment adjustable for various sizes of horseshoes comprises two L-shaped parts 1, 2, Fig. 1, pivoted together at 5. A tongue 6 on the arm 3 of the part 1 extends into a pocket 8 on the upper surface of the shoe 7, and overlying lips 9 at the heel ends of the parts 1, 2 are received in similar pockets 10, Fig. 4. The screw-threaded portions 12 of calks 13 are secured in openings in the parts 1, 2 opposite the lips 9, and have conical extremities that fit into recesses 15 in the undersurface of the shoe. Calks 18 are similarly arranged at the angles of the parts 1, 2.
