Abstract

Track apparatus actuating signals on trains and other than on trains.-A balanced lever b or disk c, movable in a vertical plane in bearings fixed on the track is set up in operative position, by connexions to the semaphore signal when the latter is at 'danger,' to engage arms g on a disk f carried by a vertical spindle h on the train. When contact is made, the spindle h is turned to cause hammers to strike the bell and the lever b on the disk c is moved so as to pull on the wire k or to close the electric contacts n, o to sound a bell in the signal cabin. A conducting rail t may be provided to enable the signalman to send a line-clear signal to the train by closing a circuit through this rail and a collector and a bell on the train.
