Methylsulphites of aminopyrazolones.-The process for the production of medicinal compounds described in Specification 15,658/12 is modified by replacing 1-phenyl-2:3-dimethyl-4- amino-5-pyrazolone and its derivatives by other 2:3-dialkyl pyrazolones and their derivatives. In examples, the 1-p-tolyl- and 1-p-ethoxyphenyl-2-ethyl-3-methyl-4 - amino -5-pyrazolones are treated with formaldehyde and bisulphite. Amino- and nitroso-pyrazolones.-1-p-Tolyl-2- ethyl-3-methyl-4-amino-5-pyrazolone is obtained by treating 1-p-tolyl-2-ethyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone with acid and a nitrite and then reducing the resulting nitroso compound. 1-p- Ethoxyphenyl-2-ethyl-3-methyl-4-amino-5-pyrazolone is similarly prepared.
