Targets.-Relates to kinematograph targets in which the picture-projecting mechanism is stopped by sound-waves from the firearm acting on a microphone controlling electric relay and driving - clutch apparatus, as described in Specification 29,083/11, and consists in (1) means for automatically re-starting the pictureprojecting apparatus after a definite period of rest, and (2) automatically operating the screen to obliterate the shot-holes. When a shot is fired, the sound-waves enter a microphone 14 in a primary circuit 16, a circuit through the electro-magnets 24 is broken, and a circuit is completed from the battery 30 through wires 31, 32, a frame 33, an armature 25, contact 27, and a solenoid 49. A core 50, working in the solenoid, carries a piston 61 working in a dash-pot 51, and a contact maker 42, which completes circuits through contacts 41. and the electric driving-clutch of the kinematograph and through contacts 53 and electro-magnets 54 operating an armature 55 which moves the screen 56 by means of ratchet and toothed gear. The core rises slowly until it strikes a pin 60, which lifts a spring contact 35 and breaks a circuit through the electro-magnet 29, thus releasing the armature 25 and breaking the circuit through the solenoid 49. The core then drops suddenly, the piston being provided with a valve to allow free downward motion and the circuit through the contacts 39, 42 and the electric driving-clutch of the kinematograph is completed.
