Abstract

13,596. DalÚn, G. June 23, 1911, [Convention date]. Storing under pressure.-Cement which does not contain free oxides, such for instance as free alkaline earths, is employed as an adhesive or binding substance in porous masses used for storing acetylene dissolved in acetone. Cement which contains free oxides is rendered suitable for such employment by adding to it substances capable of forming salts with the free oxides, such as zinc chloride, hydrated silicic acid, and puzzuolana earth. The porous mass also contains, as usual, charcoal and silicious earth, to which, in known manner, may be added fibrous material to prevent the mass from breaking when dried.
