12,067. Simpson, W. S. May 21. Crucibles.-A steel or iron crucible A has an air-tight cover held on by atmospheric pressure, the joint being formed by a tongue H and an asbestos-packed groove K. Inspection windows E, a connexion for a vacuum pump, and a stuffing-box for the passage of a rod carrying a receptacle for material to be introduced into the molten metal are provided in the cover. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 19,781/05, 19,781A/05, and 11,832/10.
