Abstract

Telephones for deaf persons; telephonic relays.-To enable deaf persons to use an ordinary telephone, or for normal use over long distances, an auxiliary telephone set is provided in addition to the ordinary receiver. The main apparatus has two pairs of terminals, one of which is connected by conductors 6 to a receiver 5, which speaks into the auxiliary microphone 8. The latter forms part of a circuit containing the switch 15, battery 10, and auxiliary receiver 12 with a tube 14 for insertion in the ear. The microphone 8 is fixed to the receiver 5 by means of a screw-thread, adjustment of the distance between the diaphragms being thus rendered possible.
