Abstract

8298. Clews & Sons, J., and Baker, F. R. April 6. Knot-holders.-The knotted end of a cord is secured to blind laths &c. by means of a holder comprising a flat metal base A, Fig. 1, secured to the lath &c. by a screw 1, and a hollow domeshaped metal cover B, which is pivoted at 2 to the top of the base and has a hole 12 through which the cord hangs down. A rim on the side and bottom edges of the cover B conceals the edges of the base A when the holder is closed; the rim 8 at the bottom edge snaps over the inclined or bevelled edge of the base A and is provided with a turned-up finger-lip 10. The screw 1 is preferably permanently attached to the base A, as by stamping the edge of the countersunk hole over the head of the screw. The lip 10 may be replaced by two lips provided on the vertical edges of the cover B.
