Tokens, issuing and registering number of.- The apparatus comprises a casing 1 bearing- lugs 4, to which is attached a plate 3 grooved at one end on its upper and lower surfaces to carry pairs of slides 6, 7, Figs. 3 and 6. The upper slides 6 are provided with slots 12, and the lower ones with slots 13 inclined as shown in. Fig. 3. Mounted to move on the under side of the plate 3 is a slide formed of two plates 15 united by a cross piece 16 and guided by fixed pins 18, passing through slots in the slide, and pins 20 carried by the slide and passing through a slot 14 in the plate 3 and through the inclined slots 12, 13. When the handle is in the position shown in Fig. 3 the checks are supported at the base of a container 9 by the slides 7. Inward movement of the slide 15 withdraws, by means of the pins 20 and the slots 12, 13, the slides 7 and moves the slides 6 inwards, thus allowing the lowest check to fall, the remainder being supported on the slides 6. The outward movement of the slide 15 reverses these positions. The edges of the checks and the slides 6 are bevelled to facilitate the entrance of the slides 6. Complete movement of the slide in either direction is ensured by the provision of a full-stroke pawl 24 and ratchet-plate 25. A counter to register the number of checks issued is adapted to be actuated by a spring - controlled lever 34, pivoted at 33 to the cross plate 30, only when there is a check in the container 9. The lever moves in a slot in the plate 3 and is provided with a bent end 35, which engages a bell-crank lever 30 when the arm 36 of the lever is moved outward on striking a check. Should there be no checks in the container, the lever moves forward without actuating the counter. The counter-actuating arm 30 is returned to its original position by a projection 29 carried by the cross-plate 16. The checks are threaded upon a rod 40 carried by an upwardly-extending pin 42 mounted in a U-shaped member 43 supported by standards 44. The member 43 is provided with holes 41 for the insertion of a locking-bar.
