Vehicular lanterns.- A vehicular lamp, particularly for motoromnibuses and tramda.rs, is constructed so that light is thrown in one direction to illuminate a sign or the like by reflected light and is passed in another d i r e c t i o n through a screen or its equivalent on or adjacent to the lamp, the sign or the like, the screen, and the lamp being arranged so that the sign &c. and the screen are fully exhibited in one direction. In one arrangement, the lamp comprises an inclined top c, a flat vertical front a in which a removable number-plate is arranged, an inclined back b extending up from the lower edge of the front and provided with a hinged door, and a clear glass d between the rearward edges of the top and back, the whole being supported by angle-iron hangers on the canopy of an omnibus in such a manner that light is thrown through the glass d on to the routeboard arranged in front of the vehicle as well as through the front screen.
