6830. Beverley, A. Nov. 27, 1911. Gathering molten metal; cutting off excess of metal.-Instead of gathering the metal on a rod and bringing it to the mould, the mould is supported on a holder and is dipped into the molten metal, the excess being cut off by a pivoted knife. The holder d is provided with a peg c, which fits a socket b on the mould, and with a ring e, which fits over the top of the mould. A curved knife j is mounted at the end of a pivoted operating-arm g. The rod d may be permanently secured to the mould.
