Protectors, construction of.-A rubber protector is moulded with an irregular groove c, along which it may be divided, if necessary, into two or more parts a, b, to adjust it to the size of the shoe. Leather or like plugs e' may be let into the wearing-surface. The device is secured by rivets &c. inserted through holes f, and through the plugs e<1>; alternatively, it may be secured by screws &c. bearing against embedded or other washers.
