5776. Nosworthy, W. H., and Prescott, S. J. March 7. Bottles, jars, and like vessels, non-refillable.- Relates to means for locking to bottles, jars, and like vessels the retaining - rings of non- refillable attachments. The invention comprises arrangements whereby the retaining-ring is attached to the bottle neck by a bayonet-joint and wedge action, and, when so attached, is locked in position by indenting the ring so as to form stops engaging locking-faces or cam-surfaces on the bottle neck. As applied to a bottle having a non-refillable fitting, such as is described in Specification 28,642/11, the bottle neck is provided with cam-surfaces g, g<2> commencing at diametrically opposed notches which allow of the passage of indentations k on the retaining-ring l. The retaining-ring contains the non-refill fittings, and, when rotated, is drawn tightly down by means of the indentations k and camsurfaces g, g<a>, and is locked in this position by making further indentations k<1> in the retaining-ring beneath the cam-surfaces. In a modification, the indentations k<1> are made over a notch in the bottle neck.
