Abstract

4287. Adamson, A. Feb. 20, 1911, [Convention date]. Moulding wheel tyres.-In collapsible segmental cores for making pneumatic-tyre covers. the adjacent segments 3, 4 are locked together by a bolt 9 movable in alined recesses 10, 11. The segments are first alined by a key 6 engaging grooves in each segment, and the bolt 9 is then moved from the recess 10 into the recess 11 by a screwed bolt 15 formed with a pinion 17 engaging a rack 14 on the bolt 9. Longitudinal movement of the segments is prevented by screws 19 engaging recesses 18, and a dowel 8 prevents radial movement. The segments 1, 2, 3, 4 are formed as shown in Fig. 1.
