Abstract

4170. Redrup, C. B. Feb. 19. Bottles, non-refillable. -A bottle with a neck frangible at the groove shown is provided with a stopper C<1> retained in place by an expansible ring C<3>. The stopper may be provided with a steel ring D for inserting in the breaking- groove and is retained in place by a plug E of rubber &c. The plug serves, when reversed after the bottle neck is broken, as a temporary stopper. The ring C<3> which secures the stopper is expansible or made in segments forced apart by a rubber or other resilient body C<4>. A packing washer C<5> is employed. In a modification, the breaking groove is made in the thickness of the bottle neck, and is sharply angular at its inner end.
