Abstract

Stationary-vessel washing-apparatus.-In apparatus for washing and stoning grain, of the kind having oppositely rotating worms in a single trough, the washed material is removed from the trough by an elevator, the whizzer which forms part of the plant described in Specification 18,498/05 being dispensed with. The grain is fed into water in a trough B, and the heavy impurities are removed by a worm E while the grain is moved through the water by a worm C and is discharged from the apparatus by an elevator G of worm or other form provided with draining-means which may be adjustable. An overflow weir K and a fresh-water supply are provided, and a circulation of water may be maintained by a pump J or a paddlewheel. The axes of the worms C, G may be parallel or at right-angles.
