Moulds; clamping and guiding moulds.- Moulds for casting footstep and other bearings to the finished form comprise a bottom portion b made in one or more parts with a stepped or recessed joint, and a top portion a<1> made in one or more parts and bored to receive a core a. The parts are provided with tapered surfaces and with centring-means such as a rib and groove n. Oil-wells, as shown at j, and projections or dowels are cast in or on the bushes as required, and subsequent machining is not necessary. In addition, ordinary damps may be used to hold the mould parts together if required. Specifications 14,875/07, 8382/09, and 24,539/10 are referred to.
