Animals, catching and destroying.-A box or cage trap comprises a sheet metal box 1 the open ends of which are adapted to be closed by spring doors 7, of which one is shown closed and one open in Fig. 2. The floor 2 slopes upwards towards the centre, where a platform 12 is attached to the horizontal arm of a bell-crank lever 13. Depression of the platform 12 causes the lever 13 to rock about the point at which it traverses the side wall of the box, thus moving the tail end of a lever 14, pivoted at 15, to cause a finger 17 therein to permit the closing of the doors by springs 10. Catches at the lower ends of the box prevent the doors from being opened from within. Specification 155,897 is referred' to.
