Abstract

188,859. Purchon, J. Sept. 26, 1921. Animals, catching and destroying.-An animal trap consists of a box the top of which is covered by wire netting 2 and a door 1 for setting the trap. One end of the box is closed by a spring- actuated door 4. The mechanism for releasing the door consists of an upright partition 7 having hinged thereto a rod 6 which rests on a transverse bar 5, and the free end of which engages the lower edge of the door 4. Preferably a strip of metal is fixed to the said lower edge and a hole punched therein is engaged by the end of the rod 6. The animal in getting at the bait on the floor round the part 7 disturbs it and causes the rod 6 to release the door.
