Abstract

29,012. Burney, C. D., and British and Colonial Aeroplane Co. Dec. 23. [Cognate Applications, 2664/12, 15,938/12, and 15,939/12.] Propeller shafts, arrangement of; rudders.- Comprises aeronautical apparatus furnished with laterally extended wings and having a body A of boat-like form provided with inclined hydropeds B upon which are disposed hydroplanes b as shown. The propellers C and rudders D, F for use in water are actuated at the lower end of the hydropeds B, E, the rudders being connected to the wing-warping controls and to the aerial rudder so as to operate simultaneously and in sympathy therewith. The propeller for propulsion in the air is situated at the forward end of the apparatus and is put into operation as soon as the lift produced by the combined action of the propeller C and the hydroplanes b is sufficient to enable the aerial propeller to be used.
